National Geographic Store Launch, Lot 10 KL

Just so you know, National Geographic opened their first National Geographic store in Lot 10 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on April 7th. It's the second store in Asia and fourth in the world. And which, I was invited to attend the grand launching of the store happening last week on the 22th of June 2010. YB. Dato' Sri Dr Ng Yen Yen was there to officialize the store alongside with Tan Sri Francis Yeoh and Ruth Yeoh, the Director of Investments for YTL Corp Bhd.

This National Geographic Store in Lot 10 was inspired based on National Geographic’s 120-year heritage of getting people to care about the environment. Anyway, Here how the store look like.


Very nicely done. My friend, Wilson said it was better compared to the outlet in Singapore.


Press conference was held outside Lot 10. At the entrance.


Members of the media/press and VIP's was there. Eventually, It was quite grand and attracted passer by visitors to drop by as well.

After the Press Conference, all of us walked up to check out the store. On our way up, we get to see lots of people dress in costumes OR dress up in different themes from various of countries.

In a way, we can also say that this store is an ideal one-stop shop for picking out gifts, hobby and interest as well. Attractive coffee-table books such as photography collections and atlases are readily stocked in the decorative bookcases. Not to mention adventure bags, collectible toys, magazines, T shirts etc. Worth it for adventurous individuals to drop by.

Oh did I mentioned that they served us food and beverages as well! A concept from wide range of countries as well. America, Spain, China, England, Italian and Malaysia ! How wonderful.



Customers can also drop by to visit their in-store Café. A great place to hang out after your visit to the store. It highlights delicious treats ala Pinchos (a traditional Spanish way of eating small portions of food-on-sticks) within a Mediterranean-like ambiance.

Well, it’s nice to see that we have our own National Geographic store in Malaysia. One day I must go there and pay another visit. Have a drink at the cafe and check out the store in more detail.

Sony Alpha NEX Launch

2 days ago. It was Sony Alpha NEX launch at Lot 10 roof top, Teeq Brasserie. We, the advertlets bloggers did witness the launch of the lightest interchangeable lens digital compact camera ever made in the world. It's a combination of a DSLR + Video Camcorder = NEX 3/5

We had been given a chance a play with the new NEX series camera on the spot. The pricing for that camera cost RM2699, retail price. comes with 8GB memory card misc. I haven't really explore/played with the camera yet, but hopefully SONY Malaysia will give me a NEX camera to write a review on it.

So let us skip the camera part. Meantime, lets see how's the event turned out that night. All photos taken using the sponsored Sony Alpha a550 & my Nikon D300s.


The launching event eventually was quite grand. Love the balloons decorations.


Just before we went up, we had ice cream and played around with the sponsored a550 by SONY. And the model for the a550 is partner in crime, Waiyan.

Interior was quite spacious and nicely done but one thing I MUST complain, the venue was too hot. Do they even have air conditioner inside? I did suit up and Im sweating all over!


We went there for this. Sony Alpha NEX series camera. You can see the size of it. It’s pretty compact. even compact with the pancake lens.

Not to mention with exactly the same as a550 sensor in the NEX body.

After the launching of the camera. It's time to have our dinner and get some time to play around with the camera, take some photos, mingle around with the bloggers and friends.

It was a fun event with the company of the friends and bloggers. It’s interesting to see how Sony NEX3/5 will go out there as the first ever compact camera with DSLR quality, not to mention with a Full HD 1080 video capabilities. This camera is one good camera! But i would love it if there is a purple coloured NEX-3.

PS: Cross fingers that i will get the NEX camera for review!

Debenham's Launching

Debenham's Launching on the 13th April. Happening @ Lot 10. For the very first time in Malaysia, Matthew Williamson will make a rare and he has dressed the likes of Madonna, Kiera Knightley, Kate Hudson, Sienna Miller, Helena Christensen and Demi Moore.

Winner of the Elle Designer of the Year Award, Winner of the Red Carpet Designer of the Year - British Fashion Award, Winner of Moet and Chandon Fashion Tribute Award, Creative Director of Emilio Pucci. I guess Matthew Williamson needs no introduction in the scene international fashion.

In-conjunction with the Store launch, there was a fashion runway show lined up for the esteemed guests showcasing the various designer clothes that are available at the Debenhams store itself.
